CAN YOU BUILD A MUSCLE AS A DAD OVER 30?
Ok, so let’s break this down.
𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭, 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐞?
1. Because this means you’ve increased strength – as you get older, would being stronger be a benefit?
2. Because having a higher percentage lean mass improves your physique – would this help your overall confidence?
3. Because bigger engines burn more petrol – do you remember back to when you could eat and drink and not get a gut? Was good, hey!
𝗪𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫?
𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴:
1. You have past the peak of your natural testosterone production.
2. You’re likely to have more competing priorities like family and career to balance off
3. Your body is breaking down muscular protein at a quicker rate
4. If you’ve missed the early years of lifting, you’re likely intimidated by learning something later and getting uncomfortable.
5. Complicating things might be other conditions of aging that reduce your functionality.

𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝… 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐅
It’s the acceptance that Dad-Bod is inevitable
That, it’s just par of the course and not much can be done to stop it.
Whist it may be harder, your attitude determines your results.
I’m always thinking about where I am going to be in 10, 20, 30 years.
I want to be functional, not broken
I want to be able to lift my grandkids
I want to be able to eat good food, enjoy a beer and not feel guilty or fat.
If any of these things appeals to you,
Then the sooner you start,
The more “deposits” you bank.
