WHAT 'I LIVE FOR' - PLEASE READ
I just got off my fortnightly Zoom catch-up with our BBA Boys
I asked a question for them to ponder – ‘𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳?’
Most of the lads answered, ‘my family’
Very typical, but what does that ACTUALLY mean?
That as the breadwinner, you live specifically to make sure they have the finances to survive?
That you live to share love?
We would all assign different meanings to ‘𝘐 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺’
But I promised them I’d sit briefly, and then share my answers as to what I live for.

It’s a hard question, kind of like ‘what’s the meaning of life?’
My conclusion is,
I live to 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐀𝐍 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄.
I feel like the longer I live, the more I see life as,
90-100 years on a planet,
To which you have an opportunity to have fun.
When I say ‘𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦’,
What that actually means for me is feeling the sensations and thoughts that come with doing something either difficult or pleasurable.
For me, I feel very connected to something higher than me,
Not a religion,
A higher power that connects us all
And when I share moments and experiences with my loved ones
What I’d call ‘living for my family’
This gives me serious warm, fuzzy feelings
And somehow, that seems to connect back to me feeling fulfilled that I am doing something that’s greater than me.
𝐓𝐰𝐨 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬:
1 – When I look into my daughter’s eyes, and she holds a stare for 5 secs before becoming distracted, I feel an incredible deep sense of infinite love
OR
2 – When I get a message back from a client saying ‘dude, you helped me change my life’, I have this same incredible sense of love and gratitude.
In both cases, this sense of love, which is almost indescribable, makes me feel very connected to other humans and to a higher power.
This may make no sense, or it might make a LOT of sense.
But when asked what I live for, the answer is AN EXPERIENCE
Some momentary, short experiences,
Some longer, deeper, more exhilarating experiences
All patched together to = LIFE.
And maybe that’s why I’m pretty happy.
I KNOW that experience is what I LIVE for, so I seek it out as much as I can!
I put very little value in accumulating things, except where they may give me an experience…
