I’VE LIFTED WEIGHTS 4 TIMES SO FAR IN 2022
So, you finally decide to get off the fence
But you haven’t trained since you were 25 years old.
You come out all guns blazing
“𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝟻 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘢 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬, 𝘌𝘝𝘌𝘙𝘠 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬 𝘑𝘢𝘴𝘦”
Two weeks pass, and because you set an expectation that was beyond you just now, you give up.
𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐞,
And you’re back to Square One.
𝐈’𝐦 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐘 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑-𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆…
𝘌𝘹𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦:
My January 2022 workout percentage is shit
4 days out of 31 = 𝟏𝟑% 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠
𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘺 𝘣𝘢𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩, 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵?
But if I took my average gym of 4 days per week or 16 days per month, 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬
That’s 4160 days trained
Out of a possible 7200 days in 20 years
Adjust down for the 12 training days I “slacked from normal” in January 2022
That’s 4148 days trained out of 7200 days in 20 years = 𝟓𝟕% 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠
𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐟 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫-𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐲 𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝟏𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠,
That’s still training 𝟒𝟒% 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬.
The point is, you need to start playing the long game,
Not these dumb short ones…
𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲
You stop training for a couple of weeks,
Nothing happens
And this mate,
𝐈𝐬 𝗪𝐇𝐘 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡!
